What do the colours mean?

Opal3 allows you to measure performance in four different ways:

  • NF - Non-financial performance (numerical and/or textual)

  • E - Expected performance (a non-financial, textual forecast)

  • F - Financials (incl actual, budget, annual budget and forecast)

  • R - Risks (including residual risks)

Each of the four parameters has one of five colours for each reporting period:

  • Blue - Optional - Better than good. Please contact us if you'd like to activate this for one or more of the above measure types.

  • Green - Good

  • Yellow - Marginal

  • Red - Bad

  • Grey - Reporting is delayed

  • Black - Reporting is overdue

All performance categories have modifiable labels. You can modify the labels at Admin / Site Settings / Colour Key:

In terms of reporting, you can either leave it to end-users to choose a colour for a particular level of performance or you can specify automatic colour criteria in relation to specified targets.
