Almost nothing in the system is deleted permanently. Some actions are subject to an immediate “undo”. In addition, most deleted things are simply stored in a recycle bin. Every [Admin] [Change] list allows you to access the recycle bin in a systematic way:

If you need to restore defined categories of indicators, for example all indicators that belong to a particular owner, you can do that, and more, on the Reports screen (see this article).

In case things go REALLY wrong, we have an extensive back-up system in place. For registered users, the entire site is backed up once an hour up to a week, once a week up to a month, once a month up to a year, and then once a year.
